Community Involvement

Ronald McDonald House Charities® Erie
Ronald McDonald House Charities improves the lives of young people by awarding grants to local non-profit organizations that directly benefit children in the areas of health and medical research, civic and social services and education and the arts.
While Erie does not have its own Ronald McDonald House, the chapter continues to make a difference in the community by providing grants to area not-for-profit organizations that share their vision.

Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Chicagoland & Northwest Indiana "Rock the House"
For more than 40 years, Ronald McDonald Houses have supported children and families. Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland & Northwest Indiana's mission is to care for families of children with complex medical needs by providing comfort, compassion, and a sense of community
Each night, they host 153 families close to the care and resources they need because of the comfort, compassion and community at their five area Ronald McDonald Houses and three Ronald McDonald Family Rooms. Allowing families to stay close to their child in the hospital supports the child’s health and well-being while saving our families hotel and food costs.

The Blessing Board
The Blessing Board gathers and distributes household essentials to those in need.
Over the years, the footprint of The Blessing Board has grown from a garage, to rented storage units, to a house, then to a small warehouse, and finally to its current location - a 46,000 square foot warehouse and office space in Oakmont, PA with an additional 5,000 square foot location in McKeesport. The Blessing Board averages 800 calls a month for assistance and is on track to helping 1,300 families this year. The small staff at The Blessing Board could not possibly bless this many people without the service of dedicated volunteers — nearly 1,000 men, women & children in 2017!

Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure
This important annual event raises significant funds for the breast cancer movement, thanks to supporters and survivors around the world who step up and take action by fundraising for the cause. It serves to not only raise funds but increases awareness, celebrates breast cancer survivorship and honors those who have lost their battle with the disease.
We invited our clients and friends to join "Team Bridgeview" in the 19th annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure www.komenpittsburgh.org. The race was particularly dear to us as Robb’s Mom, Cozy, a 26-year breast cancer survivor, passed away February 28, 2011.

Crushed Grapes - Sister’s Place
Sisters Place serves all of Western Pennsylvania and has helped more than 200 families from homelessness into independent living. In 2011 they added five new families to their housing program bringing the total number of families that they are able to serve to 32. Over 90% of these families have transitioned safely into independent housing.
The Crushed Grapes wine tasting event raises funds for Sister’s Place, which provides homeless women and children services to help them find housing and eventual self-sufficiency.
